Ground Transportation
Washington Dulles International Airport is served directly by shuttle van, bus, and taxi. Public transportation is also available for travel both to and from the airport.
Shuttle
Shared ride vans operate between the airport and Washington D.C.'s downtown hotels. Some may make stops at intermediate points along the route. A company known as SuperShuttle operates from stops outside the Main Terminal on the Ground Transportation Level roadway. For disabled persons requiring accessible-van service reservations should be made in advance.
Hotels may operate courtesy transportation. Phone links to hotels are available on the Baggage Claim Level. Hotel shuttles generally meet potential guests outside the Baggage Claim Level on the curbside.
Public Transportation
Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority provides a service that connects downtown Washington D.C. with Dulles Airport via the Dulles Corridor.
The Washington Flyer Coach Service operates between Dulles airport and West Falls Church Metrorail Station. Metrorail is the local rapid train transport system. Metrorail provides train connections to the center of Washington D.C. and to many other places within the urban area.
Flyer services run from early morning till late in the evening. Within the airport's main terminal tickets are sold from a counter near door 4 on the Arrivals Level; the Flyer's bus stop is outside on the Arrivals level of the Main Terminal, near to door 4.
Greyhound buses provide services that run from the airport to many locations in Virginia, including Charlottesville and Roanoke.
Taxi
Washington Flyer taxicabs provide an exclusive service from Dulles airport. Taxicab dispatchers monitor taxi ranks set outside the Main Terminal on the lower level's east and west ramps.
