Singapore Airport Terminal Information
Introduction
Singapore Airport has two terminals. Terminal 2 is noted for its state-of-the-art construction. A third terminal, even more high-tech than the others, is under construction. A number of airlines serve Singapore Airport, offering both long- and short-haul services. The highly efficient staff ensure the success of the airport and it has received many accolades such as the annual Business Traveller awards. The terminals are equipped with a host of facilities and services to ensure passenger needs are met. Services include banking facilities, specialist shops and news-stands. The airport is connected to the city centre via the Skytrain, a free-to-user transit system with a journey time of only two minutes.
Terminal 1
Singapore Airport Terminal 1 handles the traffic of over 20 airlines, including British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Continental Airlines, Japan Airlines, KLM, Northwest Airlines and Qantas Airways.
Terminal 2
Singapore Airport Terminal 2 is the home base for Singapore Airlines. The terminal also serves Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Austrian Airlines, DHL Air, Kuwait Airways, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, SilkAir and Virgin Atlantic.
Shopping
For shoppers the choices at Singapore Airport are endless. Choose from a wide variety of outlets including Times Newslink, offering international best-sellers, writing instruments and stationery products. Chocolates, perfumes, cosmetics, tobacco, alcohol, electronic goods and luxury branded fashion items are available at the high-class retail outlets. Presents for children may be found at Kaboom or Lian Tong.
Restaurants and Bars
Singapore Airport's many restaurants, bars, cafes and food courts have a reputation for serving top-quality food and beverages. The food courts, situated in the lower level of Terminal 1 or just outside Terminal 2, offer a wide selection of value meals with all major cuisines - Oriental, Indian and European - represented. More upmarket food and drink outlets can be found in the main concourse of the terminal buildings while the ever-popular Burger King and McDonald's serve US-style fast food in Terminals 2 and 1 respectively, and Swensen's Cafe Restaurant offers a choice of dishes, ice cream and gourmet coffee in Terminal 1.
