Newark Liberty International Airport Ground Transportation
Ground Transportation
Newark Liberty International Airport is served directly by AirTrain, shuttle, bus and taxicab. Public transportation is also available for travel both to and from the airport. A Ground Transportation Courtyard is located at the south end of each terminal (exit through Door one on the Arrival level) and at the north end of Terminal B, near the International Arrivals Lobby. Sheltered, moderately enclosed waiting areas are provided for passengers.
AirTrain Service
The AirTrain provides service 24 hours per day between Terminals A, B, and C, parking lots P1, P2, P3 and P4 and the rental car complex. The AirTrain trains run every few minutes most of the day. After midnight trains operate approximately every 10 minutes between midnight and 5:00 am.
Courtesy Buses
the free courtesy buses to transfer between Parking Lot P6 and Terminals A, B and C. Buses run every 10-15 minutes from 5:00 am to midnight and every 20 minutes from Midnight to 5:00 am.
Public Transportation
New Jersey Transit runs a number of bus services that connect Newark Liberty International Airport with some destinations within New Jersey and one service to New York Penn Station.
Taxis
Taxis are available on demand 24 hours a day. Taxi pick up areas are just outside the exit of each terminal. Airport authorities note that it is important that passengers should only use taxis from authorized stands, and should turn down offers of assistance from helpful strangers. Taxis should only charge flat rates fixed by local authorities, and passengers should determine these before entering the taxi. Bridge and tunnel tolls are not included in the flat rate. Passengers should ask for a receipt showing the driver's name, driver's I.D. Number, cab company name and number, and the amount paid.
Passengers using unauthorized transportation services do so at their own risk.
