Munich International Airport Ground Transportation
Introduction
Buses, Trains and Taxis serve the Munich International Airport.
Train
Commuter trains S1 and S8 both depart from the Munich International Airport every 10-20 minutes Monday to Friday 0435-0015, Saturday and Sunday 0535-0015 (S1) and daily 0405-0105 (S8). These trains travel to various stations in and around Munich. These include Munich Hauptbahnhof and Ostbahnhof, where connections are available to major German cities and destinations in Austria, Switzerland and Italy. The S8 bus service continues to run until after the end of the Airports daily operations. So delays are well taken care of.
Bus
Transfer buses are available to many regional destinations. Autobus Oberbayern operates a Lufthansa Airport Bus service to Munich Hauptbahnhof and to many cities in the region every 20 minutes. During large exhibitions, another bus service operates from the Airport to the München Messe exhibition centre once every half hour.
Taxi
Many taxis are available from the Munich International Airport to the Munich city centre. The journey time is approximately 45 minutes.
