Bangkok International Airport Ground Transportation
Introduction
A range of transportation services connect the airport to Bangkok and other parts of Thailand. Limousines, taxis, airport buses and local buses operate between the airport and the city. Don Muang train station is a short distance from the airport and provides train services to and from Bangkok and the north of the country. Shuttle bus services help travellers move around within the airport.
Train Services
Don Muang train station is located 500 metres from the airport. Signs show the way between the station and the arrivals hall of Terminal 1. Trains run to Hua Lumpong railway station in central Bangkok, which acts as a hub for the rest of the country. Trains also run from Don Muang to the north and north-east of the country.
Services operate to Hua Lumpong between 06:06 and 20:07. There are more services in the early morning than there are during the rest of the day, when the wait between one service and another can be as much as an hour.
Internal Airport Shuttle Bus Services
Within Bangkok International Airport air-conditioned shuttle buses service two circular routes free of charge.
Route A1: Service runs every 15 minutes from 05:20 to 23:00 daily. There are bus stops on the platform outside the arrivals hall at International Terminals 1 and 2 and the Domestic Terminal.
Route: International Passenger Terminal 1 - International Passenger Terminal 2 - Domestic Terminal - Cargo Agent 1 Building - VIP Rooms Building - International Passenger Terminal 1.
Route A2: Service runs every hour from 06.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday. There are bus stops on the platform outside the arrivals hall at International Terminals 1 and 2 and the Domestic Terminal.
Route: International Passenger Terminal 1 - International Passenger Terminal 2 - Domestic Terminal - Customs Bureau Building - Four-storey Car Park Building - Cargo Agent 4 Building - Office of AAT Storage Division - VIP Rooms Building - International Passenger Terminal 1.
Bus Services
Airport Buses
These air-conditioned vehicles serve four routes between the airport and the city. The boarding area is outside Terminal 1 arrivals hall.
Route A1(South)
BIA - Silom
Airport to City: Airport, Century Hotel, opposite Indra Hotel, Anoma Hotel, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel, Regent Hotel, Dusit Thani and opposite Lerd Sin Hospital (destination).
City to Airport: Narai Hotel, opposite Regent Hotel (Police Hospital), World Trade Centre, Indra Hotel, opposite Century Hotel, Airport (destination).
Route A2 (West)
BIA - Sanam Luang (Grand Palace)
Airport to City: Airport, Victory Monument (Ponglee Restaurant), Siam City Hotel Soi Kink Petch, Petchburi Road, Sapan Kao, opposite Majestic Hotel, Larnluang, Democracy Monument, Ratchadamnoen Klang, Tanao, Khaosan Road, Rattanakosin Hotel and Sanam Luang (destination).
City to Airport: Sanam Luang, Soldier Monument, Phrapinklao Bridge, Phra Arthit Road, Phra Sumen Road, Banglampoo (Bavornnives Temple), Majestic Hotel, Royal Princess Hotel, Democracy Monument, Rajdamnoen Road, Larnluang, Victory Monument, Airport (destination).
Route A3 (East)
BIA - Prakanong (Sukhumvit)
Airport to City: Airport, Ambassador Hotel, Delta Grand Pacific Hotel, Ban Chang Glas Haus, Novotel Building, opposite the Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal and Prakanong (destination).
City to Airport: Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal, Benjasiridij Park, opposite Ban Chang Glas Haus, Sheraton Hotel, opposite Ambassador Hotel, Landmark Hotel, Airport (destination).
Route A4
BIA - Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumpong)
Airport to City: Airport, Ploenchit Road, Siam InterContinental Hotel, Siam Centre, Siam Square, Phayathai Road, Maboonkrong Shopping Centre, Rama IV Road, Mandarin Hotel, Bangkok Centre Hotel, Wongwien 22, Hua Lumpong Railway Station (destination).

Local Buses
Bus stops are situated in front of the airport on the main highway in and out of Bangkok.
Regular Bus
Bus 29 goes from the airport to Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumpong).
Bus 59 goes from the airport to the Emerald Buddha Temple (Sa-Nam-Luang).
Bus 95 goes from the airport to Ram Khamhang Road.
Air-conditioned Bus
Bus 4 goes from the airport to Silom Road.
Bus 29 goes from the airport via the Victory Monument to Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lumpong).
Bus 10 goes from the airport via the Victory Monument to the Southern Region Bus Terminal.
Bus 13 goes from the airport via Sukhumvit Road to the Eastern Region Bus Terminal.
Taxi Services
Taxi ranks are located outside the arrivals hall of Terminals 1 and 2 and the Domestic Terminal. There are three types of taxis: licensed metered, licensed unmetered and unlicensed.
Travellers are advised to use licensed metered taxis. The cost of a journey in one of these will consist of the meter charge plus tolls for expressways. The price of a journey in an unmetered taxi should be negotiated before the taxi sets off. It is not advisable to use unlicensed taxis. As with other cities around the world, newly arrived travellers may be seen as targets for unscrupulous practices and robbery.
Limousine Services
Limousine services operate to and from the airport. Limousine service counters may be found in the arrivals hall of Terminals 1 and 2 and the Domestic Terminal.
