Formed by Inversiones Hemisferio (Lara family investment fund, 32.2%, later 15.9% by 2007), Apax Partners (UK private equity group, 42.6%; 20.97% remaining shares resold in 6/07), Vueling American Investors (Dave Barger, president of JetBlue, 7.6%, later 3.8% by 2007) and the airline management staff (15.8%, later 11.1% by 2007). IPO of 42.62% in 11/06. 5% purchased 6/07 by Atalaya Inversiones, Spain. Stock trading temporarily suspended on 1/10/07 over mounting financial losses and management disagreement. Inversiones Hemisferio stake increased to 26.8% in 10/07. Agreed on 1/4/08 for a mergerwith Clickair (repeated 7/7/08, 18/11/08, EU approved 9/1/09, approved by board 13/2/09), itself purchased by Iberia (announced 21/11/08).
