Joined Qualiflyer alliance in 1990, Oneworld partnership in 1999. Set up subsidiary Finnair Aircraft Ltd in 2004 to administer its fleet. 2.45% then 6.1% stake acquired by FL Group (Iceland) in 2005, increased to 10% in 2006, 22.4% by early 2007, reduced to 12.69% in 12/07 (Finnish government still in control with 55.8%) and sold out in 4/08.
