China Beijing-Nan Yuan/Guanghzou-Fo Shan/Nanjing 1986-
Formed 25/12/86 by China AF as commercial branch linking 22 provinces. Ceased commercial ops in 10/98, then operating exclusively for the Chinese military arms and CAAC Special Services (VIP) division. Stopped all ops in 11/2002. Reorganized 20/10/05 as a joint venture between Shanghai AL (80%, later China Eastern Airlines) and China Import and Export Aviation Company (20%, later transferred to China Aviation Supplies Holding Co, then to China Eastern Air Holding Co, parent company of China Eastern Airlines, in 5/12). Both stakes to be united to make China United a 100%-owned subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines (announced 22/8/12, effective 26/11/12 when integrated with China Eastern's Hebei branch). Planned to be converted into a LCC during 2014 (announced 12/13).
