Aero Mongolia is an airline based in Ulan Batar, Mongolia. It operates domestic services to four destinations and operates international scheduled services to Hohhot. Its main base is Chinggis Khaan International Airport, Ulan Bator.
The airline was established in 2002 and started operations on 25 May 2003. It received its first Fokker 50 in May 2003 and received its Fokker 100 in January 2006. With the arrival of the Fokker 100, Aero Mongolia operated its first flight to South Korea. Aero Mongolia leased another Fokker 100 in June 2006. At the end of 2006 the airline started a direct flight route to Tianjin, China, but shortly discontinued flights.
On 31 October 2007, Mongolian aviation authorities suspended Aero Mongolia flights temporarily after the airline failed safety checks. But in the first quarter of 2008 Aero Mongolia has received the license to fly in domestic routes. The airline's operation was temporarily suspended from January to May, 2009.
