Menzies Aviation wins Delta Air Lines Cargo
Contract at London Heathrow Airport
Menzies Aviation is pleased to announce our success in being awarded the Delta Air Lines
Cargo Handling Contract at London Heathrow Airport.
The three-year contract will commence on the 30th March, 2008, when Delta inaugurates
flights to London Heathrow in addition to their current London Gatwick operation.
Menzies Aviation will provide a full on-airport import and export cargo handling service to
the airline.
The airline will operate three flights daily – two from New York JFK and one from Atlanta
to London Heathrow using Boeing 767 aircraft.
Mark Dugard, Operations Director Cargo UK & Ireland, Menzies Aviation plc, said:“We are delighted to have been chosen by Delta Air Lines to handle their new London
Heathrow cargo operation and look forward to a long and successful partnership working
with them on this new and exciting venture.”
Peter Hannaford, Regional Manager Cargo Sales Europe, Middle East and Africa, Delta Air
Lines added; “Delta has been focusing on building a world-class cargo business that
leverages the size and scope of Delta’s global network and our UK cargo operation is very
important part of that. Delta Air Lines operates service to more worldwide destinations
than any airline with Delta and Delta Connection flights to 314 destinations in 59
countries. We have added more international capacity than any major U.S. airline during
the last two years and are the leader across the Atlantic with flights to 36 trans-Atlantic
markets. This has created a strong platform to build Delta Cargo into one of the world’s
most extensive airline freight operations.”
